Does NetSuite QuickStart support SuiteScript, SuiteApps or custom records?

Not as far as Oracle documents it. The QuickStart help center describes one customization feature: custom fields and segments. It does not mention SuiteScript, SuiteApps, SuiteCloud, SDF, custom records, RESTlets or Suitelets on any page.

What the QuickStart help does document

The Customization page says: "Use Menu > Administration > Customization to create and manage custom fields that collect business-specific values and segments that classify records and transactions for reporting."

Access is limited to users with the administrator access profile or the additional "Customization: create fields and segments" permission set, per Customization permissions.

That is the whole documented surface: fields to hold extra values, and segments to slice reports.

What it does not mention

We searched the full text of the QuickStart help center on October 23, 2026: 587 pages, excluding license pages. None of these terms appears once:

• SuiteScript
• SuiteApp
• SuiteCloud / SDF
• custom record
• RESTlet / Suitelet

Absence from the help is not a formal statement that the features are blocked. It does mean Oracle has not documented a way to use them, so plan as if they are not available. The table of contents is the quickest way to check whether that has changed.

What is available for automation instead
