What are the NetSuite QuickStart free tier limits, and what happens if I go over them?

Oracle notifies your admin and may limit, suspend or block access until the limit resets on the 1st of the month. Unused allowance does not carry over.

The consequences are written into Oracle's QuickStart Terms of Use (version v10142026, first published October 12, 2026). The numbers themselves are not in the help center.

What happens when you exceed a limit

From the Terms: "If You exceed one or more usage limitations we will notify You through your account administrator and Oracle may limit, reduce, suspend, or block access to the Service until the exceeded usage limitation resets or you reduce Your total usage of the Service."

So there is no documented overage billing. The documented outcome is a notice to your admin and possible throttling or a block.

When limits reset, and no rollover

"Such usage limitations will reset on the first day of each Services Period. Any unused portion of the usage limitations will not carry over to the following Services Period."

The Services Period is a calendar month. The first one runs from the day the account is provisioned to the end of that month, and each renewal starts on the 1st. The agreement renews automatically each month unless you cancel.

The numbers, and where they come from

The Terms say limits are "set forth in Oracle NetSuite QuickStart Service Description", and that document is not published in the help center. The figures circulating come from Oracle's netsuite.com QuickStart page as quoted by ERP Today and Futurum:

Limit Free tier
New business records 2,500 per month
Emails 800 per month
New documents 175 per month
Storage 20 GB
Users 5
Bank and card accounts 4
Concurrent integration requests, MCP included 2

Treat these as Oracle's marketing figures until the Service Description is published.

Other terms that bite

  • AI use is covered by "reasonable use"; Oracle "may impose limitations" if usage "exceeds normal usage levels for similarly situated customers".
  • Oracle "may terminate this Agreement at any time for any reason", with "commercially reasonable efforts" to give 30 days notice.
  • The account holder must be located in the United States.

The free plan itself is "QuickStart Free Tier $0 / Month" with no payment card, per the registration page. For the full picture, see NetSuite QuickStart: the free startup tier.
